Pianisten Dave Brubeck och hans kvartett trädde på 1950-talet fram som ett av jazzens främsta affischnamn. En trogen publik hade man på colleges och universitet; de här inspelningarna gjordes på Fullerton och Long Beach Junior Colleges. I kvartetten ingick Paul Desmond as, Norman Bates b och Joe Morello dr.

Most Dave Brubeck records are well worth acquiring, particularly concert albums, so it seems odd that this frequently superb outing has not yet been reissued in full on CD."
