Beskrivning:När de här inspelningarna gjordes hade altsaxofonisten Phil Woods flyttat till Europa, men han flög tillbaka till New York för att spela in albumet "Round trip". Woods skrev också arrangemangen till den stora orkester som backade honom. Där fanns t o m en violinsektion samt pålitliga jazzrävar som Thad Jones, Jimmy Cleveland, jerry Dodgion, Jerome Richardson, Herbie Hancock, Richard Davis och Grady Tate.
"...Woods' playing is inspired, though some of the songs, including the title track, "Love Song For A Dead Che" and "I'm All Smiles" sound rather dated, as if they might have been appropriate for a movie soundtrack of the era....While this is not a CD for the average jazz fan, Woods' fans will want to pick it up."
